Hi! I'm Whitney Buettner and I am the solo Indigenous owner & operator of Grace & Grit Construction.
I began my career on a total whim! I went to college and realized sitting at a journalist's desk wasn't for me. I was hired on as a landscape labourer in the summer of 2013 to create beautiful outdoor spaces for clients in the Lakeland area north of Prince Albert, SK. I never looked back.
Born on Treaty 10 lands and raised on the value of hard work on the farm, working outside with my hands as a career feels like home.
Now with more than a decade of experience, I really kick myself in the butt for not starting sooner! What started out as a career in commercial and industrial concrete formwork, I switched gears to home renovations upon starting my business. I received both my red and blue seal certifications from Sask Polytech in 2017. My resume of projects built goes from slip forming grain terminals from Vancouver to Ottawa, to milling up maple trees and building a custom handrail.
I find my true passion to be not only bringing ideas to life, but to educate you, the home owner, on how to protect the biggest investment of your life. I equally collaborate with local mentorships in our area to help the next generation succeed in the trades.
I am here as an experienced, respected, and safety oriented Journeyman Carpenter to solve your problems. I aim to provide you with an education-first renovation experience. No matter how complex or unique your project, I will tackle it with Grace & Grit.
My business is my baby. I come prepared with up-to-date business operating licensing, commercial liability insurance, WCB coverage for me and my team, and safety certificates kept valid for our health & peace of mind.
If you have always wanted to live in your dream kitchen or bath, entertain in a modern and clean outdoor space, send me a message. I am here to answer any questions or address any fear you may have about hiring a complete stranger (me) off the internet!
